Convention update

Fellow Lions can I urge you to submit your convention booking form without further delay, booking forms and all details are on the District Convention web site now!

The "Wightlink" Ferry company are undertaking the redevelopment of their Lymington berth and passenger boarding facilities, consequently the service has had to be restricted to one crossing per hour until 29th March 2012. Departing Lymington on the hour and Yarmouth at ten minutes to the hour.

We therefore need to be able to confirm reservations for those attending convention as soon as possible to secure your desired crossing time and avoid any disappointment.

Cars, People Movers, Mini People Movers and Vans only are being carried on this crossing during this period, all coaches and large vehicles are being directed via the Portsmouth-Fishbourne route.

To clear up any misunderstanding, our discounted rate of £40 per car for a car and four people equates to just £10 per person, this rate is applicable for all cars including; People Movers, MPV's and Larger Cars, therefore a People Mover or Larger Car with seven seats/passengers would equate to just £5.71 per person. (Note: The normal Wightlink fare on the Lymington-Yarmouth crossing for a car and two people staying two nights away is currently £68) This therefore represents excellent value for money.

The Host committee are working extremely hard to ensure that you have a great weekend of food, fun and first class entertainment, coupled with true Lions fellowship and friendship.
